Clyde "Chico" Cox is a 4th generation farmer from Pleasanton, Texas who spent his youth and early adulthood farming alongside his father and grandfather. Upon graduating from Pleasanton High School, Chico went on to receive degrees from both Texas A&M University and Southwest Texas State University. He has had a long career managing operations in organizations such as Shell Offshore, Precision Builders, and Douglas Glass. Chico and Pat Cox are both former members of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. True to their farming roots, Chico and Pat are the friendly faces you will see running the day to day operations of the sod farm and keeping their shared family legacies alive.
Pat Seay Cox, wife of Chico, studied at both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before returning to her beloved hometown of Pleasanton. For many years, Pat has been an active local business owner and member of civic organizations including serving as Former Director of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, Pat, Chico and sister Joyce purchased the farm from their father and were able to expand the business to include a variety of sod choices as well as a clientele that boasts several golf courses and sports facilities. Pat's hobbies include gardening, home decorating, hunting, fishing and golf.
Joyce Seay Goss, sister of Pat, rounds out the three Pleasanton native owners of Legacy Turfgrass. Joyce works with her sister and brother-in-law on the business and marketing side of the sod farm. Joyce attended the University of Texas at Austin and relocated to Dallas where she would spend the next 20 years working in the mortgage industry. Throughout Joyce's career she has been an active member of several philanthropic and civic boards including The Family Place, UNICEF and Dallas Contemporary. She currently serves as the Executive Director at The Goss Michael Foundation.
